Applications Engineer

We have an exciting opportunity at our Industrials – Americas Group Headquarters in Quincy, IL, for an Applications Engineer. This position works with product management, outside sales, distribution, and customers in developing complete air compressor systems that meet their needs from a performance, installation, and implementation standpoint.  This position will focus heavily on compressed air system audits and translating audit data into optimized system design and compressed air best practices.  This position will also support the marketing of system solutions and products to potential customers to encourage the specification of Gardner Denver products.  Will take the lead role in preparing written proposals, proposal drawings and diagrams, bid packages and ongoing project / sales support for custom system design. 

Abilities and qualifications should include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical) or other applicable discipline
  • Five + years’ experience in the application and design of compressed air systems and strong background in air audits
  • Aptitude for both technical and commercial requirements of project management
  • Strong customer relations, strategic thinking, and analytical skills
  • Proactive and proficient at leading cross-functional teams
  • Ability to conduct training programs to internal personnel as well as end users
  • Excellent computer and communication skills, both oral and written.
