After an incredible 45-year journey in the compressed air treatment industry, Altec AIR is proud to announce the retirement of Bob McKay, Senior Strategic Account Manager, a true pioneer, innovator and leader.
McKay began his career in 1980 at Pioneer Air Systems, where he designed refrigerated air dryers ranging from 10 to 10,000 scfm. His passion for engineering and innovation quickly became evident.
In 1983, McKay joined another air dryer manufacturer Great Lakes Air and, by 1985, he co-founded Ultra Air Products. As a founding partner and eventual owner, he was instrumental in developing both refrigerated and desiccant air dryer product lines. Many Ultra Air units are still in operation today – a testament to their quality and McKay’s vision. The company was acquired by Numatics (Emerson) in 1995.
McKay’s entrepreneurial spirit continued with the founding of MACAIR in 2004. Under his leadership, MACAIR thrived and was acquired by Altec AIR in 2019. Since then, McKay has been a valued member of the Altec AIR team, playing a key role in expanding its presence in the larger industrial air treatment market.
McKay’s legacy is one of innovation, mentorship and unwavering dedication. His impact on the industry and our team will be felt for years to come.
