CS INSTRUMENTS USA announced the availability of the VA 526 compact inline flow sensor, a practical monitoring solution designed to help industrial facilities improve compressed air efficiency and system performance.

Compressed air can account for 20 to 40% of a plant's electricity bill, yet many facilities have limited visibility into process and machine consumption. Changes in production demand, pressure losses and equipment problems can increase energy use before the financial impact becomes clear.
The VA 526 provides real-time measurement of flow, consumption and temperature from a single installation point. By establishing a reliable baseline for normal system performance, the sensor helps maintenance, engineering and operations teams identify unusual consumption, process changes and developing equipment issues earlier.
“Compressed air waste is often invisible until it appears on an energy bill or contributes to a production interruption,” said Martin Zeller, Managing Director, CS Instruments. “The VA 526 gives industrial teams the information they need to understand consumption, respond to problems sooner and document the value of efficiency improvements.”
An integrated flow conditioner provides additional installation flexibility, making the VA 526 well suited for point-of-use monitoring, including installation inside machines. An optional integrated pressure sensor and optional dew point monitoring provide additional information about system stability and compressed air quality. This expanded measurement capability can reduce the need for multiple installation points and provide a more complete view of system performance.
The VA 526 also includes an integrated data logger, storing measurement values directly on the device. Historical data supports trend analysis, troubleshooting, reporting and optimization. Trends can reveal off-shift consumption, baseline changes, seasonal variation and process-related increases in demand.
For convenient local access, the VA 526 connects via Bluetooth to the free CS SensorApp for iOS and Android. The app provides access to live readings, measurement curves, configuration settings and stored data. Users can adjust units, select the gas type, reset meter readings, rotate the sensor display, analyze trends and export data as CSV or PDF files.
The VA 526 is fully compliant with the EU Cyber Resilience Act, supporting industrial cybersecurity requirements for connected products.
A 3D STEP file is available on request. The model supports SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA and other STEP-compatible software for installation planning, clearance and fit checks. The 1-inch pipe size is available immediately, while additional sizes can be requested with delivery within five business days.
