Universal Compressed Air (UCA) announced a long-term compressed air supply agreement for 50,000 scfm. The agreement establishes a partnership supporting one of North America’s leading steel producers and a major supplier to the automotive industry.
UCA will deliver compressed air as a fully managed service through its DBOOM model, also known as compressed-air-as-a-service. The DBOOM model consists of design, build, own, operate and maintain. Design includes engineering, system sizing, redundancy planning and integration with facility requirements. Build includes procurement, construction, installation and commissioning of complete compressed air systems. Own includes capital investment and asset ownership, eliminating upfront costs for the customer. Operate includes 24/7 monitoring, performance optimization and system control (on-site and remote support). Maintain includes preventive and corrective maintenance, lifecycle management and guaranteed reliability.
This integrated approach places full responsibility for engineering, construction, ownership, operation and long-term maintenance of the compressed air infrastructure with UCA, enabling the facility to focus on its core manufacturing operations while benefiting from reliable, high-quality air supply, improved energy efficiency and predictable long-term performance.
UCA will own and operate a complete compressed air system to deliver oil-free, dry air at the lowest total cost, saving the customer over $18 million per year. The compressed air plants will be attended by an on-site operator and the company’s smart plant platform.
